Serenade
Candle jar and box for Serenade.
Serenade is an independent studio that makes sustainable soy candles. Their mission is to create beautiful scents that evoke feelings and memories as a familiar song would.

Since each candle is supposed to feel like a song played to serenade the user, the jar’s design draws inspiration from a vinyl record being removed from a sleeve. To reflect the studio’s minimalistic, no-fuss approach to candle-making, I’ve used thin lines and simple circles throughout.
The candle’s name is represented as a song title and the candle’s number is represented as a track number. The scent notes can be interpreted as notes on a staff’s line, or as dots on a song’s progress bar.
For the text, I’ve used two serif typefaces that both evoke a feeling of nostalgia. The candle’s name is set in titlecase while the accompanying text is set in small caps to make the former stand out.
The jar’s design is replicated for the box. The top of the box uses the same vinyl half from the jar’s design, which also resembles the top view of the candle and its centre wick.
